BACIB is an Inter-Church Christian Organization, works with all denominational Churches and Institutions and committed mainly for Translation and Publication of Bible and any Biblical resources in Bengali and various minority languages.
BACIB stands for “Biblical Aids for Churches and Institutions in Bangladesh,” a Christian Organization committed mainly for Translation and Publication of Bible and any Biblical resources in Bengali. BACIB is an inter-church Organization, works with all denominational Churches and Institutions which was established in 2007. BACIB exists to provide Translation and Publication of the Bible and Biblical Resources in the national language and various minority languages.
Our Mission
Under the authority of God and His Word and in commitment to Christ and His Church, Biblical Aids for Churches and Institutions in Bangladesh (BACIB) exists to equip people through translation and publication of the holy Scripture and Scripture related resource materials in Bengali language that educate, edify, and evangelize.
Our Vision
To encourage and equip Churches and its Institutions BACIB shall work for Scriptural resource materials so that the Church and its Institutions get helps from following Programs:
- Audience based Bible translation
- Bible with complete cross-reference, translation notes
- Interlinear Bible (Hebrew-Bengali and Greek-Bengali)
- Complete Bible dictionary
- Bible handbooks
- Bible encyclopedia
- Bible concordance
- Bible commentaries
- Theological journal for theological college and seminaries
- Theological consultation through conference/seminar/workshop
- Present Activities
Based on this Aims BACIB engage its all efforts to perform its responsibilities. To fulfill its Mission at present BACIB is doing several activities as follows :
Complete Bible Dictionary: Based on the Easton’s Bible Dictionary the Translation job has been done, and now Editing work is going on to develop the based translation consulting and comparing with some other good Bible Dictionaries.
Bible Translation For MBB: A translated book on `Pentateuch’ for the new believers of the greater Muslim background groups.
Children Course Book: It is a course book of the Children Ministry project of the Compassion International in Bangladesh. An agreement has been made with that Development Organization to Translate and Publish the Children Course Book according to their specifications. At present the Translation work is going on.
Mathew Henry’s Commentary: We have taken a project to Translate the Mathew Henry’s Commentary in one volume, edit by Leslie F. Church, published by Zondervan. The Translation work will has been started from January’ 2009.
Text Book For Theological Studies: By accepting the challenge of growing needs/demands of Theological Study Books and the absence of these books in Bengali, BACIB has started work for publishing Theological Study Books of B.Th./B.A./B.D. level. Several writers are writing their books now and editing works for some of them are running.
N.T. and Book of Gospel Printing and Distribution: To educate primarily our growing numbers of MBB new Comers and to distribute the Gospels in mass people, the publishing works are going now in a satisfactory way in MBB language.
